I don't buy prepared foods, can I still participate?

Even if you don't buy cereal, granola bars, canned soup, Goldfish crackers, frozen chicken or Cream O Weber milk, there are still ways to participate in the Box Tops competitions each October and February. Here are three:

1. Look over the previous posts that list all the eligible products. There are also non-food items that you may be purchasing (Avery office products, Kleenex tissues, Huggies diapers, Ziploc bags, Cottonelle toilet paper, etc.).

2. Check to see if friends, relatives or co-workers buy these products. Many of our classes that bring in the most box tops, milk caps and soup labels do so because they get them from their grandparents or work places (especially those who work in restaurants and cafes that use Cream O Weber milk).

3. Check the Web sites of the parent companies (listed in previous posts) to see if they're having special promotions. Right now, Box Tops 4 Education is having a promotion where if you register with the Web site, your school receives 5 free box tops. Check out more information at: http://www.boxtops4education.com/one/default.aspx?ESRC=14471

Do box tops expire?

YES!

The expiration date appears in the lower right hand section of the coupon and also in the upper part right under "Official Coupon" in more recent printings.

As far as I know, Campbell's soup labels, Tyson A+ labels and Cream O Weber milk caps do NOT have expiration dates.

Is it worth it to clip box tops and soup labels?

In a word, YES!

For the 2008/2009 school year, Westridge earned $2,210.00 from box tops.

So far, our school has accumulated 41,106 points* from collecting soup labels.

Last year we didn't collect enough milk caps to turn in, but that will change this year -- we've already collected over 10,000 milk caps!

We haven't collected enough Tyson A+ labels to turn in, but this is a new program and I'm hoping that in a few years we'll be able to do so.

*To give you an idea of what we can purchase with our points, here are a few items from the Campbell's soup labels catalog:
500 points -- football
1,900 points - 144 camel hair brushes
4,800 points -- 12" blue political globe
5,550 points -- Geovision MicroProElite Tabletop Microscope
16,100 points -- Electronic keyboard
24,800 points -- Digital camera multi-user classroom pack
